KNOWLEDGE CAN HELP GUIDE THE NEXT STEP
What Is Hereditary Cancer Genetic Testing?
Hereditary cancer genetic testing looks for inherited changes in genes that may be associated with an increased risk of developing certain cancers.
Depending on the test ordered by your healthcare provider, testing may evaluate hereditary risks associated with cancers such as:
- Breast cancer
- Ovarian cancer
- Colorectal cancer
- Uterine cancer
- Prostate cancer
- Pancreatic cancer
- Gastrointestinal cancers
- Other hereditary cancer conditions
Your healthcare provider determines which genetic test or panel is appropriate based on your personal history, family history, and other clinical factors.
Important: Hereditary cancer genetic testing evaluates inherited cancer risk. It does not determine by itself whether you currently have cancer.

No. Your healthcare provider determines which test or genetic panel is appropriate for you.
Do you offer both blood and cheek-swab collection?
Yes. NCR Medical Lab offers both cheek-swab and blood specimen collection for eligible provider-ordered hereditary cancer genetic tests. The collection method depends on the test your provider orders.
How much does NCR Medical Lab charge?
